SIXERS

Overview

The brief was to create a digital campaign for the Philadelphia Sixers basketball team to increase sales among younger (18-30) fans. I pitched 6ers History in the Making, a social media & display marketing campaign that positions a Sixers game as history in the making & urges sports fans to purchase game tickets to witness & be a part of history.

During my background research, I was surprised to find that famous ball players like Julius Irving & Charles Barkley had played for the Sixers. I decided that history in the making would be the theme of the campaign and I would capitalize on FOMO & how it you even miss one game, you could miss a memorable, shareable moment.

INSTAGRAM STORIES TEMPLATES

Overview
I created a series of Instagram stories templates geared towards bloggers, influencers, and entrepreneurs. There are three themes: BOLD, Classic, & Photography.

BOLD: I wanted bold repeating type to be the focal point of these templates, I created this template set with influencers & YouTubers in mind.

Classic: Naturally, I chose serif font as this template’s theme for a timeless and more formal look to make these templates the perfect fit for bloggers.

Photography: I decided not to include any text on these templates to keep the focus solely on the photography.

INSTAGRAM QUOTE POSTS

METRONOME

Overview

Metronome is a Spotify playlist that only features Black artists. I was hired to develop their brand identity and create Instagram post templates.

My vision for the brand was minimal & modern so I opted for a type-only logo in a bold serif font. I wanted to keep the branding black, white, & brown because the playlist features only Black artists & such a playlist would not need to exist without the prevalence of the promotion of non-Black artists and I used different shades of brown to symbolize the diversity of black people.

For the Instagram posts, Metronome wanted a mix of memes/shareable posts, artist features & announcements. I wanted the posts to stand out in people’s feeds/explore pages, so I used larger type, but I also didn’t want to use too many colors as the brand’s primary color palette is black & white.

BLACK HISTORY UNTOLD

Overview

Journalist, Sofiya Ballin is the creator of the series Black History Untold—a storytelling series that features modern black history makers. For her 2018 series she tasked me with creating quote posts for Instagram that highlighted photography, but still allowed the quote to be prominent.

Sofiya collaborated with the Brooklyn Nets for a special series entitled, Untold. I used a blockletter sports font to tie the Instagram posts in with the font that is used by the Nets.

For Sofiya’s 2019 Black History Untold series she used plants/nature as inspiration. I used earth tones in the quote posts for Instagram to connect with the plants featured in the photography.
